Two years after HPW completed a new brand and retail strategy for the Wilson Group of Horticultural Companies at their original retail outlet, the team were appointed to masterplan, detail the interior and design the branding / signage for a brand new $10 million garden and lifestyle centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The new centre, constructed by Dutch glasshouse specialists Thermoflor, has been built on approximately 8 acres of Wilson Group owned land close to Saskatoon.

The building has excellent sustainable credentials...

The core offer is a large garden retail centre, with the added attractions of a 2 tier go-kart raceway, zip wire, ropes course, animal grooming facility, café and hothouse as part of an overall 120,000 sq ft of internal space.  A number of high quality boutique retailers have also taken concessions in the centre.

The building has excellent sustainable credentials and our client believes it to be one of the country's lowest energy in use buildings. The hybrid real log and steel structure provides a dramatic and fitting interior for this ground-breaking scheme.

Steve Wilson, President of Wilsons:

“We really needed to work with people who fully understand the garden centre industry. HPW has a great track record in the UK and Europe, not only in the construction of garden centres, but the interior design and also the full branding opportunity.”

Wilsons Lifestyle Centre has recently opened to great acclaim, also winning the Engineering and Geoscience category of the Premier's Awards of Excellence in Design, presented by the Design Council of Saskatchewan.
